About Dirty Dog Gaming

It all started in 1983 when my parents purchased a Commodore 64 computer for me.

I was fascinated with the workings of the dos system and started gaming and started writing and programming my own dos games to send to friends around Australia.

The Sega system was launched with Sonic the Hedgehog 1991. This type of console gaming was new to me, and I found that not only was I getting more and more excited about the games that were being released but the graphical contact within the games and the coding in the background to make these games run.

I had a break from computing and gaming until my first IBM desktop computer was purchased.

I started with the game Command and Conquer 1995; this was a turning point for me as warfare gaming was right up my alley.

I progressed to Nintendo’s console to start playing games like Crash bandicoot 1996 and Goldeneye 007 in 1997, I found the first-person shooter experience to be fascinating again, wondering and searching on how they could make this happen and the new colors and in-game graphic content.

Then what I can say was my stable gaming console was the XBOX.

Xbox launched in Australia in 2002, this form of gaming where you could link up with other players and the vast size of the in-game mapping size was amazing.

Then in 2005 Xbox launched the360 gaming console, this in my mind revolutionized the console gaming industry with bigger games, more playable contact in those games and larger community to engage with, this is where my gamer tag DIRTY DOG was born, I built a great network of gaming friends from all over Australia and New Zealand that to this day I still have contact with, some of my very first clan members I have watched go through some of their most difficult times and there happiest, two clan members even started just by catching up for coffee even though living 2 hours apart to now being married with 4 children, I find gaming since 2005 to be on a new next level, the social aspect of the whole system has brought a lot of people together like never before.

In 2010 Xbox S was launched and in my opinion was not such a good console, but we still are still all stuck with the name Xbox believing it could get better.

Then Xbox One X in 2017, what can I say this was a huge relief as all my clan mates and the Xbox community were getting very impatient and this console was a game changer, first console that we could play cross platform with PlayStation peps, the games became more complex with better game AI and more interaction with the in-game content.

With the anticipated release of the Xbox Series X in 2020, Xbox revolutionized the cooling feature of the console and the graphic capability of the console, and this was a major change also with not only cross play with PlayStation but also Computers.

I found that not only were the games bigger, more graphical content and larger in world maps with even in-game teams playing with over 150 people at one time in one game, but Xbox itself started to listen to the consumer and started to make improvements.

I then had a dilemma. With the installation of Starlink I could still not have the speed of a computer and therefore had to make the decision to stop online gaming due to the lag or purchase a custom desktop system.

I looked around hard even going to conventions and physically seeing the computer systems creators and the hardware they use and how they assemble this, there were so many options my mind was blown away.

I searched a lot of forums and finally came up with a plan. I called the largest computer builder in Victoria and made a meeting with them to start the process. This was a purely enjoyable experience unlike ever before, to sit and talk to these guys and custom design something from scratch with amazing.

Then after 4 weeks I drove to the store to pick up my new custom gaming computer, when I first loaded up steam and purchased the latest COD game, I could not believe what I had been missing out on, the graphics, the game play, the multi-player experience was out of this world, finally a system that could keep up in today’s modern gaming world, it was not long before DIRTY DOG hit number 180 in the world for a certain multiplayer game mode in COD, this was amazing and then I started to load other games I used to play on the Xbox system and re play with the better graphics and AI.

All in all, I am a massive gamer of all types and very interested in the game graphical content and the whole multiplayer experience.

Dirty Dog gaming is about honest and fun reviews of consoles and games, I hope to give a different unbiased view of the gaming world, I visit most expos and conventions and would like to showcase this to Australia and the world.
